Sports Illustrated Auburn has added five new scholarship players to create plenty of competition heading into the preseason . . . Alex Golesh believes that the Tigers are a program that could, before long, be competing for national championships . . . The question was designed to test Auburn's new head coach, Alex Golesh, and perhaps catch him off guard. But he didn't blink . . . Brown is a strong thrower, but his running ability could ultimately seperate himself from other quarterbacks in the SEC . . . CBS Sports asked Golesh how long it would take for his team to beat Alabama, and the new Tiger skipper did not miss a beat with his response, which may sound familiar to long-time fans of the Tigers. "I think 60 minutes. Maybe overtime . . . Auburn's running backs are expected to be flying at heights unseen this year . . . An absurd 96% of Auburn's points scored over the past four seasons have been from Harnden's sprinters . . . Ken Harnden has been elevated to head coach of the Tigers' track and field program . . . "I want to end my track career saying I was the greatest of all time . . . The Auburn Tigers will be represented well at the ISCO Championship. Not only will Koivun compete, but he will be joined by Josiah Gilbert, Trace Crowe, and Patton Kizzire, with Jason Dufner serving as an alternate . . . "She was one of the best junior players in the world and has found great success on the professional tour. She plays a top level in singles and doubles and we can't wait for her to be a part of the team . . . Auburn returns four of its five starters from last year's team, along with sixth man and substitute Billy Davis. But they'll be pushed and have to continue to earn their spots with three top 2026 recruits now on campus . . . Alabama and Auburn are among the latest major athletic programs to oppose the legislation . . . Athletes Jay Denning and Ben Edwards, head coach Ford Dyke and team athletic trainer Camden Bentley formed a strong contingent for the Tigers on Team USA, which defeated Spain 9-7 and 9-8 in back-to-back sets in the championship game . . . Catcher Chase Fralick and pitcher Jackson Sanders will represent Auburn on the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team . . . With Auburn's new roster now fully in place, it's no surprise where the Tigers are eager to make the most improvements in summer practices . . . In a joint letter, Scott Phelps, President Pro Tempore of The University of Alabama System's board of trustees, and UA President Peter Mohler urged opposition to the Protect College Sports Act. Joining them were James H. Samford, President Pro Tempore of Auburn's University Board of Trustees, and AU President Christopher B. Roberts . . . "They are trying to lead, which has been encouraging. I think our guys respect them to a point where they are listening and taking some of the comments and criticisms and some of the things they are trying to help me implement this summer . . . "With TD, Caleb, Mantas, KO, Adam, you've got multiple guys that can play multiple positions . . . Finally on the Plains alongside their Auburn teammates, Rubštavičius and Ngoy have a lot to learn as the team began season preparations last month. "I'm excited to see how those two guys fit in . . . "We've tried to play the long game," Thompson said. "Meaning we've valued the high school player, even guys that were good enough to start their pro career . . . Pitcher LJ Cormier, outfielder Mason McCraine, and first baseman Ethin Bingaman were all recognized by D1Baseball for their special seasons with the Auburn Tigers . . . The Arnold Palmer Cup is a Ryder Cup-style tournament featuring the top men's and women's college golfers, matching the United States against a team of international players. The competition begins Friday . . . "Mantas was 6-7, and Narcisse was 7 feet, if not 7-1. That was a positive." That's in reference to Auburn's first overseas signee, Filip Jovic, who was a 6-foot-7 forward. When he committed to Auburn, he and his agent said he was 6-foot-9.
